Fostering the love of Space Exploration with Purdue SEARCH

Starting from scratch#

Helping set up any organization from scratch is always hard. Defining the culture and accurately capturing the true essence of why we gather is everything. I have always loved minimal design and clutter free visualizations. One of my favourite videos that capture this process is from Apple, which I made sure to share during the very first Keynote of the organization. Here are some of the slides (and the intro!) from that presentation that I carefully designed using Apple Keynote. (PS: The logo was designed by one of our talented leadership members. She has since then added her own flair to the design work for our organization!)

My role as Research Lead#

As Research Lead, I had the opportunity to conduct numerous workshops on Systems Engineering, as well as brainstorming sessions on making space research more accessible and sustainable. Towards the end of my involvement, we also participated in the NASA-RASCAL competition where we presented a research proposal on a modular, self-sustaining civilization on Mars. While we did not get selected, it was an incredibly rewarding experience considering how young the organization itself was!
